Dominique Dickerson is a Sophomore, Broadcast Journalism major who attends the Mecca, Howard University. She was born and raised in Yonkers, New York in a household with her mother, step dad, and brother. Dominique’s mother was born in Kingston, Jamaica and in her earlier years decided to move to New York to start a life with more opportunities.

Since Dominique was a young girl, she developed a love for reading and writing. She started with her favorite series of Harry Potter, by one of her favorite authors, J.K Rowling. Later, she started a collection of diaries that she faithfully writes in to this day. For high school, Dickerson attended Palisade Preparatory School, where her class was the first graduating class in 2012. During her Junior and Senior year she became the captain of the volleyball team, and an active member of the Senior Activities Program.

Aside from her love of reading and writing, Dominique has had the opportunity to intern at Howard University’s T.V station WHUT. There, she learned many production skills and promoted one of their shows ‘New View 102’ with Ed Gordon through social media. After graduation, she inspires to become a T.V Producer and Radio and T.V Personality. With these aspirations, one day Dominique also wants to host her own T.V show.

Dominique is a strong believer in her dreams. Her confidence, self driven attitude, and dedication will only help her to shine.
